NEW HIRE ENROLLMENT

You have the same health care benefits options, coverage levels, coinsurance and deductibles as existing team members; however, there are differences in your eligibility, when you enroll and how the wellbeing incentives work during your first plan year with Children’s Mercy.

ELIGIBILITY

  • You become eligible for benefits the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. For example, if your start date is March 1, your benefits coverage begins on April 1. You must enroll by April 30 for your coverage to be effective.

ENROLLMENT

  • If you are a full-time, weekend option or part-time benefits-eligible eligible team member, you must complete the enrollment process within 30 days of becoming eligible for coverage — even if you want to decline coverage.
  • If you are a part-time team member regularly scheduled to work between 32 and 47 hours each pay period, you must complete the enrollment process within 30 days to purchase medical, dental and/or vision coverage at full cost. If you want to decline coverage, you do not need to complete the enrollment process.
  • If you would like to claim a dependent under the Children’s Mercy benefit plans, you must provide proof of dependent eligibility within 30 days of the date you request coverage, stating they meet eligibility requirements.

  • If you are a newly hired team member, during Children’s Mercy Orientation, you’ll receive an appointment time to meet with a member of the Benefits team who will review your plan options with you and help you enroll in your benefits using Infor HR Talent. (You can also contact Benefits by visiting the Employee Service Center with 24/7 HR support at home, work or via a mobile device. Open a ticket and an HR team member will assist you.) You must enroll for benefits within 30 days of your benefits eligibility date.
  • You must enroll using Infor HR Talent, even if you want to decline medical coverage, unless you are a part-time team member regularly scheduled to work between 32 and 47 hours each pay period.

WELLBEING POINTS

You and your covered spouse can begin participating in wellbeing activities after you set up your wellbeing account within the Personify Health platform. You should receive an email from Personify Health within one week of orientation reminding you to do this.

To comply with Medicare regulations, you must provide Social Security numbers for all dependents you wish to enroll for Children’s Mercy benefits. The enrollment system will prompt you for this information when you enroll.
